It is that time of year again where the kids are chomping at the bit to get outside. The days are getting longer and we are all starting to get a little cabin fever. My kids are acting up more, fighting like cats and dogs, and I'm pulling my hair out. It seems like these are also the days when funny things happen or at least when I remember them. Here are some funny quotes that have happened recently.
I had just put Kole to bed and Rory was at work. I shut the door and went in the other room. This is what I heard coming from his room.
"I want my Dad! Mom, go to work! Dad takes me to the jumping place. Mom, go to work!" Put on repeat for about 2 minutes.
Kole was emptying all of the loose change out of my purse and stuffing his pockets.
Mom: "Kole, you took all of my money."
Kole: "You buy more?"
One day Saige had just gotten out of the bath and heaven forbid didn't have a bow in her hair. The doorbell rang.
Saige: "I can't get the door, I look ridiculous."
As I mentioned before, the kids have been fighting like cats and dogs. Especially the girls. I can't take it. I want them to get along so badly and be best friends. I hope one day they will enjoy each other. As we were laying in bed the other night, Paiton had a thought.
Paiton: "Mom, I want to be in the Guiness Book of World Records. So, tomorrow I'm going to be the nicest sister ever and set a record."
Mom: "That sounds very nice of you Paiton. I'd like to see it."
Paiton: "But, I'm not going to start until the afternoon."
She is still working on the world record. I may even put a call into Guiness if she really does it.
Funny kids!

Valentines Day
I'm not a huge fan of Valentines Day. Maybe because it is in the dog days of winter and I'm in a constant bad mood. Or it could be that the holiday itself is just cheesy, full of lovey-dovey garbage. I realize I may get some haters because I'm not a fan of Valentines (Brandie, I know your coming for me.) I just think it is a stupid reason to spend money on flowers, cards, and candy. Shouldn't we be telling our loved ones everyday that we love them - and I don't need a piece of candy to do that. But, we celebrated anyway, in a small way.
Rory took the kids to a birthday party so I snuck away from work and planned a special dinner for the family. I rushed home and made dinner to surprise them when they got back. I realized I didn't even own a tablecloth, I know that is ridiculous. My neighbor saved the day with a fancy white tablecloth. We dined by candlelight with my Grandma's china and wineglasses. The kids pretty much thought I was the coolest mom in the world. It's the small things.......
