My two year old.....

My baby is two! I can’t believe it. On one hand, I’m so glad he is two and I don’t have to deal with newborns again. On the other hand, I’m somewhat sad. He doesn’t cuddle, he talks back, and he terrorizes everything.

This kid is the cutest thing you’ve ever seen, and I’m not kidding. I have complete strangers stop and tell me how cute he is and he melts their heart with a ‘gotcha’ smile. He is funny, outgoing, and easy-going. His little smile and brighten anyone’s day. I can honestly say I’m totally smitten by this kid.

Everyone told me boys are different, and guess what? They’re right! He is so different from the girls and even the love I have for him is different than the girls. I find myself just staring at him with a huge smile on my face. Let me tell you a little about this 2 year old……

- He loves his Dad, WAY more than he loves me. When Rory is at work, he asks for him every 15 minutes. When he wakes up in the morning he shouts, “DAD, GET UP!” or “DAD, I WAN OUT!” If Rory doesn’t respond, he will yell for me. He follows Rory around everywhere, copying every action. He wants Rory to put him to bed, get him out of the car, get his lunch, change his diaper etc. If I try he says, ‘No, Dad!’  It kind of makes me sad, but I’m so glad he has such a wonderful Dad.

- He is a clean freak. He loves to clean. Every time I get the vacuum out we have a fight. He loves the Clorox wipes and goes to work as soon as we get them out. What can I say? He not only looks just like Rory, he acts like him too.

- He is big! He refuses to believe he is any smaller than anyone else. He has to do everything the girls do. There is a picture of him on my phone and every time he looks at it he says, “Baby”. I tell him that isn’t a baby that is Kole. He responds with, “no, baby!”. The other day he looked at himself in the mirror and said “BABY!” If you ask him “Are you a baby?”, he responds with a definite “NO!”. At one point, Saige taught him to respond with “No, I’m a man!”. LOL

- He is a flirt! Not with all girls though. He will pick out the really cute ones. A few weeks ago we found ourselves in the Emergency Room with a case of croup again (everything is fine now). There were tons of nurses and women walking in and out of our room. He picked out the cute, blonde, young girl and turned on his charm. Smiling at her, playing hide and seek with her, slapping her leg. This kid had her eating out of his hand.  And then a few weeks ago, we had a neighborhood party and he picked out one of the really cute girls and latched onto her. He sat with her, played with her, and let her feed him dinner. At one point, I looked over to find him laying in her lap. Again, sounds like Rory. I’m in trouble!

I could go on and on with stories about him. He is so fun and brightens my life every single day. He is the easiest child I’ve ever met, he just goes with it. He is just happy to be part of the family. I’m so glad I have him and that is an understatement.

Enjoy some pictures of him and his happy, happy birthday party. Terrible Two’s here we come.

So cute. Why do kids do this?

Getting ready for the big day.

My sad attempt at a Spiderman cake. :) He liked it! He loves "PiderMAN"

Blowing out the candles.

The crew!

Opening presents with all of his sisters and cousins waiting patiently.

He got a new train set for his birthday and he loves it.

He also got a new bike with no pedals. Apparently, this is the new way to teach kids to ride a bike. Now he just pushes himself off and rides this all over the driveway.
Just a prime example of him having to do everything the girls do. This is a bad picture but it is him in the tube we pull behind the boat.

Big Boy! He loves to go "Bye Bye" and will stand by the car and wait.
Just an adorable picture of his sweet smile.

Oh gosh... I also LOVE that kid. I don't know if it's because he's so adorable, or because he reminds me of my boys when they were young. I can totally see him flirting up a storm with a chosen girl. I didn't know about the ER trip? Scary for you :( My favorite pic is the one of your dad & your brothers all sitting around the table chatting at his party. That's what your house is Jodi. A place where everyone feels welcome & comfortable!
